So "assy"must be referring to the valve and vacuum actuator as one unit. Makes sense.
He could just plumb them together but it'll cost him around 10 degrees on max AC.
Aha, so the VSV can be bought separate. I was being gracious. To me it's the heater water valve, which is pretty close to what Toyota calls it. I see no mention of VSV in the description. Makes sense as parts are usually denoted by their major function. I'm still willing to concede to both noobs...
As I said, slim chance. You did have to mess with the connector to clean it. It's possible you broke a wire or something. I just don't believe in throwing parts at things is all. A monkey can do that. You're not a monkey are you? ;)
That said in this case it sounds like you're right. Anyway...
Man, the summer in Moscow can be brutal. Last time I was there it was like 95 dgrees at 95% humidity for weeks. Miserable. I don't have a solution for Mr Y but I'm impressed he drives there. The way Moscovites operate cars would scare the crap out of any sane person. Almost wreck the rented Lada...
Microwaving is not a good idea ;). If you used a lot of solvent that's all the more reason to stick it in the oven for an hour. Make sure the pressure sensing hole at the top of the Karman Pillar is clear.
Slim chance but there might not even be anything wrong with it. Could be a connection...
It does. I've never actually tested the CRC stuff but I know someone who had trouble with it. If hasn't crazed the optics your AFM may actually fix itself it you let it air out for a few days or bake it at 125 - 150 F for 45 minutes. Wouldn't be the first time I've seen it happen. Worth a try...
I know what it means in the electronic context although that may not be how you're using it.
I forget the year Lexus but someone will chime in. The electronics are the same so you could always just stick them on your stock housing.
For those who insist on cleaning something that never needs...
Ian: Much much ;)
Frank: Sure. You may have to tweak the lower chamber volume to get Vf right but it'll work fine. I ran that way for some time. Myself, I'd buy used electronics from someone if I were you. Lots cheaper.
Considering I warned against using that stuff not two days ago I might be...
Well, you're ignoring the data. My experience based on oil analysis and erosion of the leading edge of compressor blades jives with the study. K&Ns are terrible but if you value power over engine life it's your call. My priority is the opposite.
Besides, the air filter is almost never the...
This one? http://tinyurl.com/yyasp3
Not relevant here other than to show just how bad K&Ns are. That said it's a well done independent test. I see no relevance in posting information from a filter maker's own site. Fwiw I run the Delco in my car.
Better hope they don't find out you have a permanent address elsewhere. The law is specific about that.
Btw, smog is about to get worse for those who must do it. Effective 1 November 2007 vehicle model years from 1976 to 1995 will require low pressure testing of the EVAP system. Other than the...
Depends on where the car is registered. Some areas use enhanced testing, some basic, some require basic testing only when the vehicle is first registered and thereafter only when sold. These designated "change of ownership" areas are zip code dependent and commonly in rural parts of the state...
