    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

Thanks for the info on the flat floor mounting, it confirms what I was thinking. I have a welder and I'm not as afraid to use it now as I once was, I think I can do this, if I can come up with brackets that I feel will keep the sheets on the car. The oval exhaust is something I'm considering as...

1990 Turbo Supra with 3k miles for sale?

Sure, I would love to have the quality of these cars when they were new, but I'm in the "I'd rather have a well maintained car that I can actually enjoy" camp over the "museum piece" camp. Turns out, driving cars is way more fun and rewarding than staring at them...

    Your job title!!!

That you ever considered yourself to be in the first place is a bit troubling... Suppose there have always been folks like that, it's just that it's more common knowledge these days I suppose. Any regrets? Not looking for specifics, of course, I know you wouldn't or couldn't talk about them...

New toy I just received back from the builder

If it's anything like the 1927A1 that I have, that AK is probably comfortably heavy enough to use as a bludgeoning tool if necessary, no? Looks nice man. Quick edit: I will gladly trade you weather. ;)

    Replacement for a supra?

Careful here, nostalgia can be a powerful temptress. Now, while a Mk3 can be an awesome car when done right, they are a LOT of work. If you're looking in the 350-450whp range, a vvti 2jz swap in a Mk3, with appropriate suspension and brakes, can be done reasonably affordably. Now... my...

My Other Car Hobby - Tall n Slow

Thanks for the info guys. I'm honestly not in a market for a truck, but the LC has always appealed to me, as have the LX. Just seem like nice vehicles all around. :) I try to avoid the idea of buying a truck, because then I might end up doing "truck" stuff, and I don't have enough time in a...

    Boosting?

Easy answer, gearing. I put a 4.10 OS Giken diff in mine, and LOVE it. More thoughtful answer, all depends on what you're using the car for. Set goals, then modify to suit. If you're doing autocross or drifting, a fairly small turbo that favors response will be your best choice. Drag racing...

    RPS Cyn-R-G flywheel rebuilt kits

You might try getting in touch with someone at Real Street Performance, I know they're doing rebuilds on the RPS carbon clutches these days, they might be able to get you some info. Good luck!

Whats the stupidest thing you have done to your supra?

On the subject of solid mounts, I've had solid engine mounts for 8 years now, and honestly... never really noticed any undue vibration? Granted, I'm running a 1j, a very short stroke engine to begin with, and I daily drive a Miata most of the time. Those little roadsters vibrate as part of the...

    1300 Kg Track SUPRA project

Still absolutely loving this, under 1200kg must feel amazing in this chassis. May I ask how you attached the flat floor? I have been scratching my head for a long time trying to figure out how to do that to my car. I think the exhaust on a typical Supra would prevent a perfectly flat floor...

    Front Lip Alternative

Hey, it serves a purpose. The less air that gets under the car, the less lift. It also aids in cooling by giving the air at the front of the vehicle one less place to go instead of through the heat exchangers. For that price, I'd say that's hard to beat, purists can do their own thing. :)

MVP Track Time 2018 Track Event Schedule

There are only a couple tracks within a reasonable distance of me, one is a three hour one way drive to get to, and the other is about 6 hours, one way. Man I live in BFE...

Camshafts - Long Term Storage Preparation?

Something tells me my stock cams are probably pretty rusty by now... although we live in an area that is unfamiliar with the concept of humidity, it has been 8 years now since those cams were in an engine. Oh well, might make some neat stuff out of them. Towel racks, shift knobs, whatever else...

    Anyone use Reinzoil products before?

Are you trying to seal an oil pan or something else that is similar? My engine was assembled with a 3M product commonly known as Hondabond, I can't recall the exact 3M product number, but Toyota has a similar item, if not the exact same stuff. I never had any issue with my oil pan leaking. I...

    Where did everyone go?

Perhaps I'm a bit technically challenged, but I wouldn't know where to look for hosting anymore. I'm not going to leave a computer on 24/7 to host some pictures, just not very economical. Plus, our max upload speed for the internet connection I can get is a joke. We're talking something like...

My Other Car Hobby - Tall n Slow

Any reason not to get an LX versus a 90/100 Cruiser? I find that I rather like the Lexus cars I've been in over the years.

thinking of a gun to buy..

Thanks for the explanation. Not terribly worried about being car-jacked where I live (there's more guns than people here, no joke), but quick access is definitely a good deterrent. Door pockets on the Mk3 just aren't a great spot because they're thin and the opening is fairly short. Mounted...

    Your job title!!!

Heh, I still firmly believe that the majority of Americans are actually Libertarians at heart, they just have been tricked into thinking otherwise. What part of, "leave me alone to live my life how I see fit, and I'll do the same in return," doesn't resonate with people the world over? No...

A Look inside the Stock Muffler

The Silent Hipower has an interesting method of sound attenuation, before the tip, it allows some of the air to get cycled into where the packing material is. It's tolerable at speed, and I don't think my specific case is a fair review of it, because my rear floor pan is a fairly thin sheet of...

    Where did everyone go?

You know, a C6 Z06 would have been a smarter car for me than my Mk3, they fill very similar missions, and yet the Vette would have been done and reliable, out of the gate, for probably half of what I have into my Mk3, and an S2000, as I'm sure you're well aware, is a better Miata. Yet, here I...
