10mm allen socket, at least 6" long. Today's purchase, probably Sears, or a tool store. Parts house probably won't carry it.
Does anyone have a link to a supra bodyshop guide?? You know, the kind bodyshops use to estimate and order parts. The kind that shows the parts spread out. The kind with part #s and prices. Anyone?
I have the pages out of the estimator book, but it would be much nicer, and better for...
It is stock. They call it a Condensor Blower Assy...part #88590-14010
I don't think all cars had it. I THINK it was on the turbo models, but not the n/a.:1zhelp:
You know...if someone asked, I suppose I could scan these supra bodyshop guide pages I got off ebay. Create a file so they...
They are run from 2 relays down on frame near the battery. They get their 'on' signal from a sensor in the high side a/c line along the Rt frame between the afm & firewall. The pressure switch is set at approx 225psi of 'highside pressure.
I run a 180* stat in the summer (6mo), and 195* for winter (better heater operation. My fans are set to come on at 190*, and off at 180*. My car always runs cool.:icon_razz
Sounds like a vacuum leak, cause you didn't have the problem prior to vc gasket change. Plug off all those little ports on the throttle body to see if things improve. You may have a gasket leak, or may not have hooked back up all the vacuum hoses.
Thats where I would start.:biglaugh:
You said you have spark when the problem occurs.
Drive the car around until its good and hot. Turn off and wait a couple of minutes. Try to start for a just a moment. NO start?? Take a rag (for soak-up) and a wrench under the hood. Crack open the cold start injector line. (use rag to...
How's your power steering oil level? How about the head gasket? It can be prone to leak at the front corners, as the TSRM says to use silicone there when installing it.
Also, use some 'Simple Green' to degrease. A fellow today was telling me about some degreaser in Gal jug at Costco for...
After you stop from a 20min plus drive (all warmed up), shut it off, jump out and open hood and see if coolant is boiling over into the coolant bottle. Yes??? get a new radiator cap and try this again. Does it again ??? Then you are overheating for some reason. report back !!
If you dont want the cold start injector to come on, just unplug the connector to the injector. It won't set a code. Warm climates like So. Cal, S. Texas, S Fla. won't even notice its missing.
Here is the repair from the SOGI site

I did this, and it lasted a year. The second time I just removed the littlest coil and made one from some small diameter stainles steel 'safety wire' I got from the motorcycle shop. I soldered it...
Just make sure you plumb in air from out front, and not hot air from under the hood. Hot under hood air will drop you approx 5 hp. I ducted air from the front grill area to the K&N, and made a box around it to seal out underhood air.
I felt the increase in power after the box was done.
Those little fans ONLY come on when the 'highside' pressure of the lines gets above like 250psi . Mine don't even come on when its cool out and I'm on the hiway, or in winter when I'm defrosting. You can run without one in the summer, if your a/c is blowing cold (45*) out the vents.:icon_razz
