Whats the maximum wheel size and width I can fit safely on a stock '88 supra without fender rolling? Biggest I can see is about 18"x7.5" w/ 35mm offset. Which is a little narrow for my liking :/
Also, does tiresize really affect performance or handling?
So as far as I can tell, the only difference between the tein flex and tein ss models is the flex includes pillowball mounts. What exactly are these and are they absolutely worth the +$500 extra? Thanks!
Been looking around for a sawblade replacement for my black '88 supra. How do you guys think these will look on it?

About $140 apiece I think
I see...One other question...The guy says he has a 7mgte engine (and r154trans), Greddy TD06H-20G Turbo system, 450cc injectors, 3" exhaust turbo-back, sc400 fuel pump, bla blah...He claims 450hp. Do you think all that stuff can create 450hp??
What do you guys set your boost at for your daily driving? Or should I say whats a safe/normal boost level to set it at for daily driving? I'm gunna look at a turbocharged supra this weekend and the guy says he keeps it at 12psi for daily driving. I know next to nothing about turbochargers...
Woah you replied like before I posted the thread lol.
So nonturbos come with 2jzge...Do they require the same modifications as 7mges if you want to slap a turbo on them (pistons, oilcooler, driveshaft bla blah..)?
Also what manual transmissions do both the turbo and non-turbo mk4's come...
It was in an accident so the engine probably got screwed when that happened. Yeah when I checked the coolant and oil levels, they were both fairly low...Rear right suspension also squeaked like crazy when I drove it. He said it was a suspension bushing or something...
Yeah but this either the mk3 or mk4 will be my daily driver. I'm guessing that a mk3 w/2jz engine plus a fat ass turbo isnt gunna get very good mileage. Will be fun but gas is killer these days. I dunno, I've become very fond of my mk3 over the couple of years that I've had it. I think I'll...
I've had the mk3 for about 3 years now. The guy said in his Indian accent 'The ah previous engine used to ah have a little ah smoke ah when I ah start it up. I no like that so I ah replace it.'
The odometer has over 100k on it but he said the new engine has only about 50k.
Yeah I...
So I've had this '88 automatic supra for a couple years now and just checked out a nice '94 mk4 automatic today. They look so much better in person than in pictures. The guy has put a $4k nav system in it, bazooka tube, switched out engine so it only has about 50k on it, brand new leather...
You cant go wrong with black on a supra...
And btw, that cant be an 1988 unless you changed the taillights and possibly the bumper. '88s didnt have the toyota logo on the front...I think they started doing that in '90...So that car looks more like a 1990-91 than a '88. :P
I get that exact same thing. It's pretty accurate until about half way and then it will go down and up quite a bit. It went down to the E today and I filled up and it only put in 13.9gal...the tank is 18.8gal...
Just refilled today and was curious on what kind of mileage I get. I had 351 miles on the trip odometer (in which I reset exactly when I refilled the previous time) and only put 13.89gal into it.
Soo, 351mi/13.89gal = 25.27mpg! :D Pretty good for a 3.0l if I must say so myself.
The car...
Hm, I checked teins website real quick and all I could spot as differences between the ss and flex are that the flex comes with pillowball mounts and flex is edfc compatabile. What exactly does edfc do? I know it has something to do with a control unit in the car but what exactly can you use...
I'm looking for new suspension for my stock '88 supra and I've read that coilovers are the way to go. What's the best to go with? I see a lot of you guys have the Tein set...Links to dealers would be appreciated as well :D
Thanks!
