    '89 Turbo Supra build

Congrats, man! As for the starter issue, the relay mod is basically putting in a relay, where the oem system is already using a relay, so I'm not a fan of the 'mod'. The starter relay is in the passenger kickpanel. If you're getting voltage to the signal wire, then the oem relay isn't the...

7M oil leak. Looking for references

I'm going to guess the oil galley plug behind the rear timing cover. You know where the oil feed is for the turbo? Well, the front hex oil galley plug is in-line with that(same height on the block). I couldn't find a pic of the front plug, but here's the rear plug, and this galley is of course...

Project: Git'R driving...a VERY short build

Another update: Since I had gone ahead and pretty much violated the original plan of keeping the car stock, I thought I may as well find out what all my updates had done to the car. To recap: Apexi intake HKS super drager exhaust 3" down pipe 57 trim turbo 560cc injectors Lexus afm Apexi neo...

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

PS- I picked up a new targa tool bag from the dealer. The car never came with one, though it did have the tool. It was only 9 bucks. I found out that all the targa cosmetic caps(plugs) are discontinued, but I'm looking into the mk4 caps, because they look identical. I'll report back.

    Project Git 'er done!: Stages 1, 2, 3, 4....Stage 5- Reassembly after 13 years!!!

No pics of it yet, but I have pulled the maft pro out, and begun wiring in the DET3. I had purchased this piggyback used, so I was a little scared that it might be faulty. I plugged the det3 into my laptop and gave it 12 volts, and thankfully, it seems to work. Since it has an internal map...

Project Ookii Ao: Road to 500whp

Good luck on the build. Looks like a very nice car to start with.

I keep going back in time! Finally found a mkiii--meet crimson tide

Beautiful car, and if I'm not mistaken, I saw some of these pictures on a Facebook posting as well. PS- Your use of the words, 'parlance', 'woeful' and 'consummate' are way too eloquent for Supramania; in the future, please dumb it down a bit for us 6th grade readers. :)

    So...Anyone ever see this problem??

Plugs on the CPS are brand new Toyota, and the issue only showed up when the injectors were swapped. The injector wiring is EV1/ Denso adapters, so no cutting or splicing was done. The last 2 days have been largely sputter-free. I added injector cleaner to the fuel 3 days ago. Who knows...maybe...

    So...Anyone ever see this problem??

I tried reproducing the 2000rpm cutout the other day, but it wouldn't do it. My stumble at idle was really bad though, I definitely had a cylinder missing. So I pulled over and checked the injector contacts. Disconnecting and reconnecting #1 injector seemed to clear it mostly up, and the idle...

    TEMS hack?

That sounds even more labor intensive than retrofitting all the oem system components and wiring, but good luck.

    notable ticking

Lol, sorry- I completely missed the video link at the top! Sounds like you have 2 sounds going on there- the loud ticking(and part of that might be exhaust leak), and also a lower knocking sound. That'll be the rods. If it goes away when warmed up, it may just be wider clearances, and not rodknock.

    So...Anyone ever see this problem??

Update: Replaced plug wires, no change. :( All plug wires are in the #3 valve cover wire holders. I will check the cps wires, to see if there is any effect from messing with them.

    Power Steering Rack Line

I've never removed that line from the rack before. Never heard of it ever leak, though. I would imagine that it's a straight forward procedure to replace with fresh bent piping, though. Just be sure of the threading size. I'm sure it's metric, and parts stores usually carry metric fuel line, so...

    So...Anyone ever see this problem??

Yes, if the engine was fully warmed up, and I gave wot, occasionally it would cut out on a cylinder. Now, this WAS what it was doing, and I wasn't sure if it was an injector connection, or a spark plug wire grounding out. I replaced plugs, cleaned the injector contacts, cleaned the igniter...

    TEMS hack?

Install TEMS shocks, run inputs for steering angle, tps, brakes, install TEMS motors, install rear TEMS harness( only front is installed in non-TEMS cars, to my knowledge), install TEMS computer, build a controller...This seems like an awful lot of work to retrofit a system that won't perform as...
