I think the hose goes into the fender well right next to the bottom of the canister. As for other cars, I think it has to do with emissions.

Pretty sweet, but why would they stick with the stock twins when they are going all out like that? Only reason I can think is to get it running first then worry about that stuff.

Are you getting fuel? I know when I did my swap, I had the fuel wire power wire from the engine junction block mixed up. After I fixed it, it was good to go. See if you can hear the fuel pump priming.
