the gaskets i was looking at was made from exhaust manifold gasket material. Does that sound about right or was yours actually a metal gasket? side question does the silencer cause much restriction or is it almost nothing?

i have a 3in blitz cat back exhaust and i want to know if you put gaskets between the flanges. Looking at the exhaust i can see that one side of the flanged portion is recessed as if a doughnut should go there. if i need them, and i think i do, where do you people get them from? i went to pep...
