gah... so turns out my head is shot. torque freaks said that it was previously surfaced and it needs a deep surface this time so its kinda shot or im risking blowing up the engine... sooooo i need a new head! yay... not. so anybody *local* got a head they wanna sell? local is portland...

so i bought a 87 supra from my nephew in peices. so im trying to put the darn thing together now with not the greatest luck. i presume that there prolly isnt any junkyards with supra parts round here in portland? im doing the auto to 5 speed swap, getting a valve job and surfacing the head. and...

yeah i think im going to take it to torquefreaks. (they are local here in portland, lucky me!). i trust them more and they can do it all for about $100 cheaper. i dont think i would be able to do the job myself.. i dont know shit about inside of engines, but im hoping my project will go...

well the cams are still there and stuff. they said to remove all the stuff and surface it and do a valve job would be about 650. 550 for the valve job and 100 for the surfacing. i dont really want to pay 650. seems like too much for cleaning crud off of a few valves

I took my head in to get milled and they said it might need a valve job. so they tel me 550 for the valve job because they have to adjust the shims and what not and its a bitch. I looked in my tsrm abd didn't see anythng about adjusting shims so I'm wondering if they are just trying to hamer me...
