Ok, the old sig, and the new sig. I don't have really good pictures for the sig, but it's good for now.

    New Wheels! - Kosei K3

Haha, you know what I should do???? Take a picture of my freaking bashed up muffler underneath! (not the one you can see, another one) Then you would see why I am just a little hesitant to lower it. I have raised and lowered it a couple times already. You know.... sooner or later I won't be...

    New Wheels! - Kosei K3

Correct... I have Tein Flex coilovers. However the car was too low before, and I actually put a few bad dents in my inline muffler because of it. So I put it up a little bit. Now with the new wheels, it's probably up another couple centimeters, because of the larger total diameter of the tires...

    New Wheels! - Kosei K3

lol cause I'm cheap, and my isp blocks those ports. In other words, I am my own host, and I don't feel like paying for a business account. I should have just attached the images like supra88 did (thanks btw). user.js is a file. The line I wrote is one that you need to add to that file. If you...

    New Wheels! - Kosei K3

I was wondering when that would pop up. ;-) Add the following line to user.js in your browser profile directory (the same folder where prefs.js is): user_pref("network.security.ports.banned.override", "23"); If there is no user.js file, just create a plain text file and save it with that...

    New Wheels! - Kosei K3

Finally... I got the wheels sorted out. First, the pictures! Second, the specs. EDIT: Don't worry about port 23, I've sorted that stuff out. The specs: Kosei K3 18x8.5 fine silver all around, +40mm offset. I have a -0.5 degree camber on all four wheels so they fit great. Tires are...

fan clutch / other oil alternatives

My fan does not spin freely, but I was under the assumption that it gets harder to turn when the clutch itself heats up. I've looked in the tsrm and I can't find a thing on this. Could someone give an overview of how the fan clutch / fluid coupling works, or point me to a thread where this is...

    protecting my investment

With a shipping container, it depends on the technology. GPS doesn't stand a chance, but a cellular based system should be ok. I'm just going by what the tracking system vendors are saying on this.

    protecting my investment

I recommend a Cellular or GPS tracking system. It's the best way to recover your car. I'm running a cellular based system called Boomerang at the moment. It will work anywhere in north america and has a battery which will supply power for two days if your car battery is dead or disconnected.

fan clutch / other oil alternatives

Thanks for the info. The part number for this stuff is 08816-03001. As for dealers, I have found that 1sttoyotaparts.com (Bob Bridge Toyota) is continually the cheapest. $7.48 vs $7.79 from toyotaworld.com Jim

fan clutch / other oil alternatives

Would replacing this fluid have any effect on a fan clutch that has "apparently" worn out? If not, are there any options besides replacement for the fan clutch?

Who here has changed their HG themselves?

The easiest thing with all those nuts n bolts (and you're probably thinking ddduuuhhh) is to screw them back on as soon as you get the part off. Then you only have to worry about the ones that you can't do this with.

    Why Fuel Cut!

From what I have read and understand, when you hit fuelcut the ECU actually retards the timing by a huge amount, which causes the loss in power. I am guessing it would ignite the mixture when the pistons are already travelling down after TDC. I do not see how this could have any negative impact...

    Why Fuel Cut!

JetJock, can you elaborate on what you mean by the "head" and the "housing"? I don't quite understand what you mean there in relation to the AFM.

Who here has changed their HG themselves?

I have, it took a couple days but I would definately do it myself again if I had to. You can spend the extra time cleaning and replacing things that someone doing it for money just won't bother to. You'll want an "engine overhaul gasket set" which runs to about $300 or so, and you're set.
