    AFR Problems

Chiming in here.... For everyone: Just so we are crystal clear on this, you use the Vout1 and Vout2 wires from the Maftpro, OR you use resistors. They take the place of eachother. Resistors are preferred. Loki2043: If you have Vout1 from your Maftpro going to THA, then your Vout1 voltage...

no oil pressure on fresh rebuild.....!UPDATED...AGAIN...with pics!

There should be a little plastic cover for that alternator terminal. It's hard grey plastic. You can see it in this pic of my engine... and the alternative routing for your AFPR line too! lol

    Maft Pro Boost Control Wiring

Why not just ask for the harness from whoever you bought the maftpro from? It's going to be a pain to wire directly into the maftpro unit without the connector. If you have no other choice.... here it is...

Reputable machine shops in soutern AB

Muzy found a shop. For anyone still looking, there are quite a few places in Calgary, however I'd recommend Precise Engine Rebuilders.

Anyone out there east of quebec?

Did you have any luck so far? I'd love to know about any regional forums out there, in case I move. :-)

    whats up eh!!

I guess we're all over in the regional forums, which give us a more closer knit community. That's hard to beat...

    whats up eh!!

As close to the intake manifold as you can get. For example... put a three way T on the line that comes off the back of the air intake chamber, and put your sensor right next to that.

vf reading when in ptt mode

You can have a VF reading of more than 0 volts in open loop, and it can also be perfectly normal. I see this in all my logs since I went permanent open loop, with no ill side effects that I know of. Zero volts simply means that the TCCS is subtracting a lot of fuel from the base map. In the...

vf reading when in ptt mode

I don't know about other people, but I still get VF readings with the stock 02 sensor gone and the ECU in permanent open loop. If you have the stock 02 sensor disconnected, make sure you remove it completely. From what I understand, the 02 sensors can be destroyed by the hot exhaust gases when...

Maft-pro and boost cut issues (logs/settings/mods included)

This statement is misleading. What the mainscale does is adjust the frequency that the maftpro outputs to the ECU in place of the Air Flow Meter, which the ECU uses to control the injectors, "pulling fuel". HOWEVER, this is not the only thing the ECU does! It can also advance or retard timing...

Maft-pro and boost cut issues (logs/settings/mods included)

I cannot think of any combination of factors where you'd want to clamp the output signal (aka fuel cut defender) with the Maftpro available. If you're hitting fuel cut, simply lean out that portion of your table (via direct VE edits, or the user tune) while watching your AFR's. The most...

    VE Table on MAFT Pro

What you appear to be dealing with is actually a limitation of using a piggyback to control open loop AFR's, where the stock ECU still controls closed loop AFR. Don't worry, there are ways around it! There are actually two main conditions that need to be met in order for the ECU to switch from...

    VE Table on MAFT Pro

The answer in both cases is nothing. TPS Start only does what the manual states it does, nothing more. If you're using another boost controller (I missed that part, oops), then it is irrelevant. As for Spark advance values, they are also irrelevant unless you are wired for maftpro timing...

    VE Table on MAFT Pro

Of course... and it's called "TPS Start". Do the math to determine what voltage corresponds to 70%, where 0.47 volts is 0% and 3.52 volts is 100%. Then set the TPS Start parameter to that voltage, and that particular setting will be correct. Read through the "Maftpro Online Guide" for 4.x or...

Maft-pro and boost cut issues (logs/settings/mods included)

What size injectors are you running? What is your freq out (synthesized airflow signal) just before it cuts? I'm curious if you are hitting the magic number (1500hz? I'll have to doublecheck that number) or if some other variables are involved.

    MORE Maft Pro Help

Well, you have disconnected your airflow meter, right? Code 31 is the airflow meter signal. :-) As for G2, you are trying to get a "monitor" function to work, not a "control" function. You had to make a hardware change (The R7 resistor) to the Maftpro in order for it to be able to monitor...

    Fuel cut!

For the Tunerpro and Tunerpro RT questions, please read the FAQ on tunerpro.net FYI: The Maftpro software bundle includes an unregistered version of Tunerpro RT. However, I highly recommend downloading the newest version from the website.

Maft Pro crank but no start

Did you do any other work at the same time you installed the Maftpro that could have affected timing? (belt replacement, cam position sensor, etc) Also, what size injectors are you running, and which VE Table are you using?
