Thats the only problem with using 60mm gauges. If you want then angled they will have to be pushed in further, which will show gaps. As it is mine hit the front plastic cover, theres hardly any clearance on that thing. They are angled slightly, but not as much as stock, doesnt bother me.

After you get it back from the hot tank i would probably get some lacquer thinner and swash it around in there at least.

Why dont you just measure everything first before deeming it screwed? Theres a good chance nothing actually got damaged.

Ok cool didnt know that, that clears it up. So would a 10w30 with its additives work as a strait 30wt without additives when warm? so basically when warm, a 10w30 with additives would be the same viscosity as a strait 30wt with no additives?

Ya theres no way a tape measure is going to help you at all. You at least need a dial caliper, micrometer is best. Youre measuring thousanths of an inch so a tape measure is seriously useless. Post some macro shots of the surface you are talking about

Last time you checked what? Your stock gauge? Take everyones advice and stop diagnosing your engine with the stock gauge.
