lol...no need, just got the 6th plug out and i'm going to have to do some price checking anyway... there is no carbon on this plug and it's shiny clean... :icon_mad:  :icon_conf
well thanks everyone, i got it out with penetrant, and the plug has been steam cleaned......
She'll be down for a few weeks, and I'm going to have to wake up for the bus now. Damn it.:1zhelp:
Time to start looking into the options i...
AMEN! i'm so glad she blew now instead of on the highway somewhere or on my way to school. It just sucks, partially because that cooling system flush has to be what caused it and also i wont be driving for a few weeks until she's back up again.
BUT i was contimplating taking off the valve...
lol.... yeah i'll get mine machined then. seems that somehow the price keeps going down every time i hear about doing the HG... I need to price an OEM gasket and some good bolts...i'm probably not going big HP on this one, since doing so is very expensive and i could just get a turbo motor...
Thanks for the replies.
On my way back to the #6 I also proved myself right when i found that the first two plugs were the same model but the writing was a different color suggesting only the 1 and 2 plugs were changed last... the rest have more carbor buildup and match.
The 5th and 6th...
I'm taking my plugs out because i have a suspected BHG and i'm trying to verify what it's done if i do indeed have one...
And i got to the 6th plug (the furthest from the front of the car incase its not #6) and I tried to take it out and I got it to turn and it was really tight, so i kept...
found some problems taking out the sparkplugs....the 5th cylinder was finger tight....
looks like i found a contributor to my jerky accel and decceleration... too bad i'm having other issues.....or i'd be happy.
yeah same here, sorry if i sounded snotty. I hate online conversations, especially because i'm slightly touchy and jump to conclusions as i'm sure many people do... without the audible part of a conversation it really hurts some conversations. But i did make it sound simpler than i should...
ok well I checked the oil cap and there was white stuff on the oil, kind of like shaving cream or a milkshake, not a ton but a little blob on top of the oil. I also removed the metal tube that has 3 tips, two going into either valve cover that come together and run into the throttle body which...
do people ever read full posts? I said "you just dissasemble, RESURFACE if it's needed...."
unless resurfacing doesn't mean making sure the parts are flat and smooth please tell me what it truly means. :)
I'm probably going to do it and i've never EVER done major engine work...you learn as you go man. Tore apart a small engine once...
I dont think it is that hard...have you seen the pics of the process? you just dissasemble, resurface if it's needed, and then stick it back together with a...
yes, thanks guys...so do you agree with my diagnosis and/or why its doing this?
If so then i have to see what to do next. my system is full of that cleaner and i'm worried that it might hurt something if i leave it too long. I'm just trying to figure out steps to take next....
Its parked in...
well i just ran into another problem and I'm probably going to get info on BHG repairs soon...see my new thread. Is there any chance of getting discounts on the BHG job on our cars if we state that we know for a FACT that it was assembled wrong??
I flushed my cooling system with Prestone stuff that is supposed to clean all the deposits and such from the system and i was in the middle of doing so last night when my dad told me to come in, so the stuff was in my system overnight...it worried me but he said not to worry if there wasnt a...
it's ok! thanks for your help. Now i have new plugs, thermostat, and new seals for that. hopefully the seal on the thing before the Y-pipe doesn't bust when i remove it to get to my plugs :( i'm going to go work on this sucker....
ok, i'll look more into it...i think i might get some...
does this stuff also help if you're burning oil? we have this lawn tractor that blows a horendous cloud of oil smoke out when you start it up or punch the throttle and if it could fix that and you've experianced it's effects on the...
lol....
freezing in the fridge?? shoot... i keep my car in the garage but no oil that freezes is worth it's dry-start prevention capabilities. I live in Nor Cal and it gets pretty cold here, enough to frost the dew some nights. I could go for it in the summer but you never know. I keep...
OK, thanks. The jiggle valve is that little metal thing that i guess u could call a valve, it's basically just a metal cork in a pinhead sized hole, and it just floats there.......
I'll probably spread a bit of that on if i dont just get a new seal tomorrow... i was going to drive it to...
