The dipstick bolts to the turbo center section. There is a little plate that bolts over the coolant passage in the turbo which has a threaded hole in it that lines up with the dipstick bracket

Im still having trouble understanding how this filter works which is why i haven't purchased one yet. Their description doesn't seem to make much sense, but if im understanding correctly, the only time the filter actually does any fine filtering (1 micron) is...
expansion alone is not going to take the level of the overflow from the full line to the point of overflowing whether or not your cap is holding pressure so i would say you have other problems. Get a block tester kit from napa and test for combustion gasses in the cooling system.
I can tell you for a fact that the bottom of the gasket has less copper sealing material showing than the top. Seems very odd that its leaking from the head gasket without even having pressure behind it. Are you sure it isnt leaking from the coolant hard pipe behind the manifold? I would be more...
Thanks for all the comments! The wheels are 17x9 +24 offset all around. And yeah im still on the stock NA W58 and 4.3 open differential haha. With the new tires i dont have much problem with wheelspin (though i have not tried launching it). Next upgrade will be an LSD.
Pretty much every car i have driven has done this, has a slight rattle/knock up until oil pressure is achieved and then goes silent. In fact, a friend of mine started up his 2jz MK4 supra and i heard the exact same thing. If the new oil filter doesn't change anything, i would not personally be...

Skip to about 3 minutes, where the idiot is so confident that its safe, that he blasts open a can in his face in his sealed cab, and figures hed light up a smoke while hes at it.... admittedly i did use it in my mr2 a while ago, and it worked OK, but...
Looks interesting. If the block still has a mirror finish why go with a stock head gasket though? I would be concerned about raising the compression with a stock gasket, seeing as how the block and head have both been machined. Ive seen the "steel layer" on the stock gasket that you're talking...
How far out are the clearances exactly? If it is not much, you can simply shave the cap mating surface down slightly to get the clearance tighter. It wont be 100% round, but with the amount of load the cam deals with it shouldn't be a problem. I did the same thing and have been running like this...
Probe makes some affordable forged pistons, but if you want to go with stock style cast pistons in oversize, you can get NPR's. Check out driftmotion.com, they have both sets that i mentioned
Is shadow grey the light grey? I tried ordering these and after i placed my order they called back saying they were unavailable. Please let me know where i can get a drivers side seatbelt if shadow grey=light grey which is most common.
Damn a compassion tester?! That really is a god tool!
Just messing around... what were your compression numbers wet and dry? Pull a lower intercooler pipe and see if oil drains out. A little oil is normal, but not pools of it.
