I found an 87 supra turbo for sale for 1600 dollars and the only thing the guy claims is wrong and needs to be replaced are the left rear wheel studs, what exactly would cause a problem there and i know its vague but what commonly would break back there?
I was just wondering what it would...
oh it's ok, he's fine, minor thing but he was told not to work with it and i'm sure it's a bit weak/painful.
yeah my 6th cylinder sparkplug was steamcleaned. I might get the head off tomorrow if my dad can help me. if not i will probably crack loose all the bolts so it will be an easier...
my dad just bought some big allen sockets and i have pleanty of tools so that should be fine.
This week i'd take the head off...but my aunt is visiting and my dad had some surgery done on his had so we cant do it for about a week probably. sorry for the delays...if this thread is getting...
what was that about the valve seals? what do they have to do with taking it off??
My dad will probably be helping me lift it if his back is up to it...we'll see. if not i'll have to ask a friend or two to come over and help me...
i need to get the head studs off tomorrow...dad's busy...
thanks! i'll have to go do it to find out if it has bolts or studs, thanks a lot! sorry i did wander off... lol. i think i might get that done today. i apriciate your (IJ) and everyone's help with this!
hmm...sounds like a lot more than it looked like it needed...
I already removed the manifold and found a previously stripped stud while i was doing so... and now the manifold is holding itself up...
if i cant slide the head off to the side a bit and then lift it up and out of the engine bay...
yeah um... lol.
but again...can anyone give me a tip on this step? i dont know if i have to loosen the exaust manifold enough to clear the studs on the head when i take the head off...or if i can just leave it, unbolt the head from the block and slide it to the right and THEN up...:1zhelp:
i never woulda thought...somehow they always seemed like they'd be kinda slowish.. maybe because at the time i looked at jeeps i was also looking at 4-6 cyl. 4runners that were always slow.
dont know. I have it unbolted from the head... should i go ahead and unbolt the head and slide it sideways (if possible) or do i have to get the header to move over to the left enough to clear the studs??
ok, i FINALLY have time to get everything done that i want to do WHEN i want to do it because school is out!! so now this should go faster...
I'm having issues getting the exaust manifold off, i've tried penetrating lube at the downpipe connection bolts but no luck... I also tried the lower...
i can see the feasability of everything in making several to sell to supra owners, except one thing...
how are you going to get multiple gauges? the way i see it they seem hard to find and toyota probably doesnt make them. maybe they have leftovers in storage somewhere but its stil going to...
DUDE!! one of my friends at school asked me that just the other day!? i dont get it...why do people even think to ask that??? i answerd with... "aww hell no dude...supras are rear wheel drive" and then he just kinda said "oh.."
lol... what gives? people dont go around asking if vettes and...
Yeah...some trucks are monsters...
it almost makes a person wonder why drag racing hasnt been taken over by diesels. I saw a dodge dually diesel online do something like an 11sec 1/4 mile...it took off slow but once it got into 2nd it went so fast.... maybe it was even quicker...i'll try...
yeah some of the things they mentioned i'd already thought about but it added more detail and gave me more to think about. to bad i didn't feel like watching it all. other stuff to do...oh well. i wathced a lot of it.
