where can you buy halon now? i saw a little web link on that site but...are there any stores you can walk into and find halon?
also...i dont get how they stopped manufacturing it, but they have enough to supply plains and military with it, and also how do they recycle it? once you use a gas it...
i think my poor paint was done with a cleaner wax then...i have some funny swirls that made me think the car was under an abraisive cover and then stuff was on top for a year or more...moving around and scratching it up.
i need to get a good polish and wax on my car and she'll look new.
so the...
i think i already have? has this design been shown publicly yet? i think i have seen the design or one VERY close to it. i might have a pic of one like it in a car book of mine.
lol... :D
youre probably right.... i thought of that but then i just try bending backward myself and it just stops. so i thought i'd ask. but it does make sence....
WHY!? WHY do you want a N/A over a turbo? frick i will GLADLY give you mine for yours :D. i'll just have installed a full toyota head gasket set on a chassis and engine with 108k miles... hehe.
and...it's black:evil2:
I was looking through the unveiling pics of the new Panoz World Champ Car and this is one of the photos that was a show before the actual showing of the car...
now...this reminded me of every time i see this sort of back-breaking arobics...and i've been meaning to ask...how the HELL do they...
will filters clean the gunk out of the oil that accumulates after the ever-common BHG? If so....
what would be the best method to effectifvely clean out that gunk that comes from a BHG? could only one good filter be used or would it be ok or better to use a couple cheaper filters and change...
dude, you have it bad. i'm almost done with my BHG and ever since i got the head back all clean and started assembling things i havent been able to sleep right....
ok, i'll do some reading in the TSRM on the plastigauging. dont know a thing about it. ----EDIT #2----- now that i read up on it... what do i do if they are loose? i dont see how i could fix that unless i took some metal off the caps... whats the worst that could happen if i dont fix them...
but what about the parts of the engine involving the head? TSRM says to add "seal packing" on the block where the front plate seams with the block, and around the #1 cam caps....
i dont know what kind of sealant to use when it calls for this "seal packing" i think it HAD orange RTV so i...
you're right, the uniform height really makes a difference and gives it a newer rounded look. I think the pre 89 lights like mine look a bit dated...
for a while i wanted the pre 89 lights with the 89+ centerpiece but i dont think it can be done. can it? even thoug pondering it doesn't help...
thanks jazz.
i'll reuse the gasket, and i'll probably use 30wt engine oil on the bolts if i dont get any other responses, and i'm taking everyone's reccomendation into account on the torque. toyota is NO help...i thought i'd try the dealer and they are "aware" of its issues but offer no...
you're talking about the head bolts right? just checking since we were talking about the exaust for a second.
I feel bad cause i just made a new thread and i thought this thread was dead... what do i do now? maybe that was a bad idea....
I had to make a new thread for my BHG ordeal assembly because my old thread was dying, and now i'm not tearing down, i'm assembling, and i need to know all this before i can move on. I have checked the TSRM. but i'm still sorry if these seem like silly questions to any of you, i'm a TOTAL newb...
good point. i was also noticing this because the crappy fel-pro one i had was...thin. and it was little circles of gasket instead of one huge gasket and lots of material between the ports... the fel-pro had just enough to hold the circles together and could probably aid warpage. blahhh.
Hey everybody, i got the head back, and it's nice and clean, shaved, and some studs fixed so i'ts ready to go on once the block is cleaned off. more pics of everything once the work area is cleaned and more is ready...later today!
