I'm glad that my thread is helping you, I hope you dont have a BHG, if you can try and think on the positive side. I hear a funny noise that could be a rod knock...possibly. i dont know what they sound like in person so its tough. my engine makes all sorts of noises...but since i probably...
you were in the SAME EXACT boat as me...it took me 10-20 minutes under there cleaning and looking around (no jacks on at the time...blah!!) and i finally got it! lol... i just went through all this.
I went through that. no leak but the hose is crap after being through 20 some years of heat.
if the rubber is still a bit soft you might be able to get by with just cutting it shorter to eliminate the crack if you dont want to purchase a new hose.
but considering the modest price of a nice...
what could running halfway between 10 and 15 do when running regular gas? i'm hoping i can make my engine run smoother if i back it off to 10 (it hit between 10 and 15 right after starting for the first time after BHG fix)
update...
I got it running! it fired up on the first try!! i didnt have anything missing! there was only one very discouraging thing...
the engine was chugging like it did before the teardown!!! i thought...well shoot i didnt work all of that time for this? no way! does god hate me? or...
nice corners. might do that someday...i think it would look nice on my black car :D
any pics of the buildup from your BHG? Mine should be done today sometime around noon!!! hehe....
oh yeah. oops. and my parents lived in melbourne once...
one of my life goals is to take trip there....maybe even live there. heh...that reminds me, i was looking at govt auctions on this one site and there was a truckload of kangaroo meat for sale! lol... when i think kangaroo i dont...
ok cool.
what exactly is pushing it hard? What should i do when heat cycling? (in terms of driving the car) i was thinking i'd just let it idle the first few times and the second time slowly cruise out of the garage and let it idle up to warm while i wash the car (very dusty!).
then maybe...
good tip. thanks. will work perfect on the practice piece i have.
What do the rest of you think on head torque before heat cycles and after?
right now it's been sitting at 60ft/lbs for over two days. I wont go over 72, probably not even 70... i was thinking 68ft/lbs. just as a...
ok i'll probably step up to the required bit... i'm using m10 x 1.25 kit.
I realised that the new toyota studs aren't really longer...just slightly different and the threads that go into the head really aren't that much more...maybe one or two extra threads. the whole stud is maybe 1mm...
i think white gives a unique touch...around where i live anyway. I like black too...but i think you should just look at TONS of supra photos, pic out your favorites and try your best to imagine your car that way.
and i'd consider heat and reflective properties depending on location...
i like...
I think i understood it perfectly.
i was having a bit of issues yesterday and realised the cams weren't at TDC anymore....somehow i got a different position stuck in my head....maybe one to measure clearances....not sure.... but i think i got it fixed now. thanks for your help!
Today...
i'm curious about this as well.
since toyota spent lots of time engineering and testing their cars why wouldn't they have made it the best they could?
i dont understand why what they say isnt the best setting... i'd figure they would GO for that performance and economy...
Here are pics of how i have it set up and a view from the drill's POV.
theres also a pic of the engine i practiced on:evil2:
oh and the engine as it sits....NOW.
read my previous post too!! its got important stuff. let me know what you think about my drilling idea. i think it looks pretty...
Hobbes-
yours sounds aftermarket then...which might not be re-useable. dont know for sure. toyota's part # is 22271 and i see no dimond designation to replace it after removal in the TSRM or parts catalog schematic. soo...there u go.
mine is a nice-looking one with rubber seals along the...
