its 2003 lexus is300 with 150000 miles a friend is trying to help fix and I am unfamiliar with 2j's as I am a 2X MK2 owner. Anyway its an auto, sounds fine but wont rev past 3k when in gear, and is slow to accelerate to said speed of 40. In park or netural it revs up just fine till it hits the 4k rev limiter. Also failed smog. Trans feels like its working properly. Everything feels smooth and I didnt hear any weird noises coming from the car. The owner doesnt know when the fuel filter was last replaced so they will be putting a new one in tomorrow and checking the fuel pressure. Any help or suggestions I could pass on would be great.
