I want to install an aftermarket radio. But what are these?

I don't believe that the blue plug is for the stereo. If you want to save yourself the headache of wiring in a new unit; just grab yourself an Eclipse deck. Anything Fujitsu Ten should be plug and play.

You can get a harness adapter from most audio shops or just cut the harness and wire it in.

Do NOT cut the harness, I hate previous owners that do that, makes the job much harder later to wire in a new stereo.

I agree, I hate cut harnesses. Adapters are only a couple bucks, save alot of trouble and give you a much cleaner install.

The blue wire is for the ECT switch or Lights for the automatic gear selector. The two white ones are for the radio. Blue one is for the transmission

oh arrite thanks. the car is an original auto. now a 5 speed. hence why that plug must be there.
