So now I have a conquest. How hard is it going to be to get that shittty Dsm motor out and get a 1jz in it? I have searched around and I have found out that the tunnel will need some work. I'm going to go with the mega squirt ecu on it just to make things cleaner and easier. But I'm still stuck on motor mounts, trans mount, driveshaft and the rear diff. I would like to use a auto trans so the wife can play with the car to. So any help would be totally AWSOME.!!! Thanks

Didn't think there would be enough room for a straight six in there...
I've seen a couple here and there. Wasn't it on this forum that we had a guy with a JZ under the hood of his Starion?

Anyway, to the OP, I think your assertion of "shitty little DSM motor" might be a bit off base. I don't think this car had a whole lot to do with Chrysler, pretty sure Mitsubishi had the helm for this car. Dodge was still quite busy with the K-cars. Then again, they were partners going back into the very late 70's IIRC, so who knows... I'd be more worried about the Mopar bits myself. :p

Also in for pics...

Well, it's not really a DSM motor either, as the intake and exhaust are swapped compared to DSM motors. Cool cars, shame their quality wasn't very good...

mounts can be made custom rather easy. if you have the resources. the driveshaft will have to be custom. but the diff should remain oem. its gotta be the strongest part in the driveline..

i gotta buddy with 5 starions. 4 wide bodys and a flatty. and ive own a 88 mitsu starion myself.

they truly are beautiful cars..
