Hey guys, ever since i bought my supra in December 2011 i noticed every time i accelerate or decelerate i hear a "bang" sound coming from under the car. It is a 89 w58 trans.
How can i check the mount? difficulty of replacement?

Also if it is the tranny mount can the w58 mount be used with an r154? cause im going to be replacing the engine soon

Thanks

Check out your center support bearing too

What he said. Not sure exactly what you mean by 'bang', but if it's a busted tranny mount or worn center support bearing,
jabbing the throttle or letting off results in a 'clunk' in my experience.

Yes, it's between the two half shafts. Your going to want to look at the rubber carrier for cracks or tears, and check how much play there is by moving the drive shaft up and down.

Thanks to you guys i think i found what was making that noise...I lifted up the driveshaft in the middle and it has about 1/2 inch of play.. check out the video

I sure as hell not gonna pay 350+ for that bearing so i will be looking into a 1pc driveshaft from shaftmasters but im still undecided on weather to buy an aluminum or steel...

$255 from Driftmotion.com
Hmm. Looked up the bearing online, and found that Oreilly auto sells them for both turbo and na.
NA- $89.99 (Anchor part#8588)
Turbo- $346.99 (Pioneer part #648588)

Holy Shiite muslim. Then I read a thread on here that says NA will fit turbo:

I have an aluminum driveshaft from the driveshaft shop. No complaints.
