So here's the story, I've been trying to find local people intersted in me doing 1jz and 2jz supra swaps. So far I've had a few people intersted but Josef was the first to really want me to perform a swap. I also figured since I never really made a detailed thread about my personal 1jz swaps that this would be a great chance to show everyone what kind of work I can do and possably get more customers to have me perform swaps. Anyways... on to the build!

Josef delivered the car from Charlotte late last Wednesday night, We started up the clip and it seems like it should be a pretty good running 1J once its in his very clean 92 NA sports package. I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on it but I'm close to finishing the wiring and with the help of my fellow former Toyota Tech shop buddy's managed to the rid of the old 7M stuff. Pictures say a thousand words...

Found what looked to be coolant or water in the oil and intake

I couldn't get Photobucket to upload the rest of my pictures and I'm way too tired at 2AM to post anything else. I'll get more up tomorrow

If No. 5 bearing wasn't any good, you still had five good ones, so you should have been o.k.........either way, good luck with your 1j swap.

Its not my swap I'm doing it for Josef. I have torn the motor all the way down and have found much more than just the fact of there being NO bearing in no. 5. The other 5 looked horriable along with the mains. The head is pretty much junked and cams were locked. This was caused by 1 thing. This motor was ran out of oil completely at one point and had a BHG along with the rod knock. Just some more info on why the 7M failed

I was kidding about the bearings of course...........make sure he knows that the 1jz is a great motor, but contrary to popular beliefs.......it too needs oil and if he runs it without any, you'll be doing another swap for him. Good luck.

Lies! The JZs can't die by anything short of nuclear war, everyone knows that.

7Ms die due to bad weather, or even looking at it wrong. ;)

Looks like a good start!
