I have a 2000 dodge dakota. Ive beeen having problems with the rear end. It all started when i noticed the rear tires had worn on the inside of one tire and the outside of the other.. long story is now i have discovered that when it is jacked up, it is quite hard to turn the rear wheel. and when i turn one side, the other side turns in the same direction. As apposed to turning one side forward and the other side turns the other way. I took the diff cover off and everything looked good to my knowledge. Any suggestions? Thanks

If your truck has a limited slip diff it will spin in the same direction. Most all tire wear complaints are due to poor alignment and worn suspension compnents. From what you have described the rear end could be dog-tracking.

Is this something that could be caused by a welded differential? Forgive my ignorance, I know it's a popular mod with drifters and off roaders alike, but not sure what it *actually* does as a consequence, other than fry a lot of inside tires...
