Shell Rotella T6 5W-40?

rotella is 15cst at 100*c and 90 cst at 40*c. GC is 12 cst at 100*c and roughly low 60's cst at 40*c. most 5w-30's are in the 10-11cst at 100*c range..
Given the tight clearances of a healthy 7m, I'm more inclined to stick with thinner oils. You should be selecting a quality oil using your oil pressures. On my old motor before tear down, 1.1cst increase in oil thickness at operating temps netted me 2 psi oil pressure increase pretty much across the board. How picky do you want to get? I'd get an accurate reading of where your at now with the current oils cst rating. Then figure out if its working for you, if you have room to go thinner or need to go heavier..
If your using a thicker oil to pick up some psi down low, keep in mind what it will be doing as rpms increase (HINT: read Jdubs oil 101 link).

I find it works great in my motorcycle.
I run the GC 0-30 in my Audi however. (And it's awesome there.)
I have run the Rotella in various cars, and it's a fine oil.
If you stay up late at night worried about 2psi, you will go crazy.
