SAFC buzzing noise, Help

Hey, this isnt technically a supra question, but my friend has a 1g eagle talon tsi with a bunch of mods, not sure on all of them, but his SAFC is not pwoering on and when the car is off it makes a terribly loud buzzing/static noise and also kills the battery. And also his turbo timer, not sure of brand, also stopped working. Doesnt anybody have any idea whats wrong? The car runs fine, doesnt go rich/or lean more than it used to and it has huge injectors, So i think the fuel control part is still working just not the display. Did this ever happen to anyone else, or is it something inside the car? Thanks!

sounds like he needs to check ALL wiring.

bypass the SAFC and see what happens

Yes, thats what i told him, he wants to just get rid of it now. The car has more problems that its worth. But if i could fix it easily im sure he would just give it to me. It is a 12 second capable car if it would stop breaking down. Right now its sitting in his yard with the battery terminal off. Im gona check it out this weekend maybe, Something may have just come lose. Stupid DSMs.

i've got a working SAFC you can buy....

power up the safc alone.

brown and black are ground
red is power.

if that doesn't work something is wrong wiht the unit.
i have a buddy who can repair them for a cheap price.
