I just got my deck height shaved for the grooves around the cylinders. the grooves are gone..but there are still some slight ones...not close to the cylinders is that fine? I had the dech shaved .008 of an inch. I am wanting to install my pistons now and I need to know the limit of allowance for the piston to protrude from the block? Right now I have .008 protruding. PLEASE help!:aigo:

Time to buy a thicker metal headgasket. :) Talk to your machine shop.

Make sure the MHG has the proper bore size for your pistons too. Many are 83mm, and the gasket will catch the piston, causing problems.

There are limits to how much can be removed from the deck too. Check the TSRM, I don't know them off hand.

Good luck.
