oil leaking into exhaust housing?

Whats up,

So i have a ct26 57 trim turbo. I followed the tsrm and put oil in the oil drain to splash the bearing. I left the turbo sitting upside down and came back maybe 1 hr later and notice oil leaked out into the exhaust side housing. I dont know, i read that this will happen if done like this cuz its not made to be upside down with oil sitting in it.

I been reading and i think that since it was upside down thats why i got oil in the housings... If anyone know let me know so i can put this to rest, thx...

Put it in car. pull efi fuse. crank until you have oil pressure. usually 30 sec to 1 min. and then put efi fuse and start engine and let idle.

turbos are not meant to hold oil so yes it will go out the exhaust housing.

Turbine oil seal isn't designed to seal oil in the manner you have subjected it to.
The seal ring/piston ring on the turbine side when seated will still have a gap.

So as hvyman already stated, you fill it with oil and place on end, its going to leak out.

Ok cool thank you guys. I got oil on both ends, that's still normal for what I did?
