Oil cooler question.

First I bought a 4" thick IC that fits like a glove.
But now the space between the ic and my ac (its working and staying in the car) condenser is limited a bit.

I found that B&Ms supercoolers is only 1,5" thick wich is perfect.

But the largest I can fit is this one:

So what Im trying to figure out is if this cooler will support say 500hp, 700hp, 900hp? I know that coolers arent hp rated.
Im getting the best/largest part right away so I dont have to change them again.

How large is yours? (That didnt sound right...:naughty: )

I have a 57 trim ct 26 since I`m not touching the exhaust side this winter.

New oil system-Largest cooler I can fit, thermostat, oil filter relocation etc, no shortcuts!

The one you linked to will exceed what you need...I'm planning on using the same B&M cooler in the same location ;)

I had my B&M in between the IC and AC condenser, but I now have mounted a stronger aluminum Derale 13x5x2" 16 row Oil cooler there. It's stronger and holds as much oil as my B&M 70266 11x10x1.5" oil 36 row oil cooler. The 70266 cooler will fit there.

The think is that I wanted my monster IC to have lots of ground clearance.
And lower part is a bit tilted to the back.

The B&M cooler is the largest incl fittings making the cooler 2" higher.

Got creative and made up one out of cardboard to really make sure what was possible to fit.

AC stays and rerouting or bending the alu pipes is not happening.

Thanx for your replies.

Here is a pic of my setup so far.

Fitting a bigger cooler is fine if you can. Unless you're doing continuous high speed engine runs for extended times, a bigger cooler is not necessary. What is important is the cooler gets good air flow.

Yes my toughts exactly.

Id rather have the smaller one in the airflow than a larger hidden somewhere with a fan-thermostat +12V...

Getting the A-scoop soon so there will be plenty of air flow.

Cant see how the rx7 cooler is relevant, it does NOT fit.

The RX-7 cooler can fit, it's just "challenging". Adjuster did it...on top of an aftermarket IC iirc. ;)

I just staying with the OEM one for now, but I mounted it right behind/on top of my IC so my replica turbo-A duct lets air into it.
