We raced twice, both first to 100mph.

First race was from a stop, and I burnt out kinda bad but his launch wasn't much better. He slowly got away from me and by 80 he was a few car lengths ahead, then he came into my lane and put on his brakes. It was at a turn and that was the problem, it caught him off guard a bit.

Second race was proposed by me; turn around and go from a 20mph roll (I wanted to see if my launch cost me). He got away from me again but it wasn't as much and by the time I hit 3rd he wasn't putting in any more distance between us.

So yea, he won 2-0, and I don't have a vid. Reason for posting? It was my first race in this car so I'm still very excited, lol. I promise to not post in this forum again without a win and/or vid.

My car: '90, turbo, R154 with my take on the SOGI shifter mod (mine's at least .5" shorter), BIC DDP re-rerouted closer to the turbo to fit a modded Magnaflow pre-cat (DP is 3" and Cali-legal), Raptor Racing metal cat and cat-back system (for those who don't know, 1 resonator, 1 muffler), Apexi AVC-R ebc set at 8.5 psi, and two amps and a 8" sub and box weighing down the back lol.

His: '03, cf hood.

Edit: I also have an Apexi power intake.

Is norcal just loaded with slow mk3's?

8.5 PSI should have taken him down if it was night.

Hell should have crept by if it was daytime.

And Street Racing is illegal.

No.

~5900 is opitimum shift point on the Stock 7M's Cams.

You car needs has something up with it, or as Sean said the S2000 might have more mods.

Hmm, I'll look into it then. For now maybe I'm just not as good at shifting as I thought I was. I also hope to build a shield for the Apexi filter in the near future and see if it'll help. Thanks for the replies guys.

we had a mid 2000's s2000 stock dyno at a local shop, he must have revved it to the better part of 9k and put down a devastatingly vicious 212whp. with your mods that s2000 should have been a tail light chaser.

Does 800lbs pounds of Mk3 luxury not matter then? My old 7m would have been a ~13.5 second car had I been able to deal with fuel cut... aren't s2000's around that stock? For what it matters my car was a ct2657 running about 12-13psi. Frankly I'm not all that surprised.

Out of the hole they're fast, but from a roll he should have walked all over him, especially at higher than stock boost. Might have to rev a bit higher as you might be falling out of your powerband when you shift, though I doubt it.

yeah, something wrong with your car cause a local s2k that is a modded n/a with 250whp runs 9.1 in the 1/8th

Where on earth are these "1/8th" drag strips? I have yet to see one in person but they are screwing with my head on youtube. 9.1 @ 43MPH just doesn't seem right to me. LOL. WAIT! we'll do 1/16th and I can say I'm in the 6's!!! Eat that John Force.

Something doesn't seem to add up here. I raced an S2k from a 40 mph roll while in my completely stock PowerStroke and he barely walked me.
