Hey guys, I'm Steven. I'm not new to this forum but its been a while since I had a supra.........I found a really clean 1987 Supra turbo 5spd, hard top. The guy I got it from just installed a bran new head, cams, valves eveything!

Long story short he put it all back together and could not get it running right!!

I look at it, its out of time and bad! I low blow him, he bites and tows it to my garage!

I reset the timing bottem to top the right way. (Not my first time on 7M) Then I frustratingly do battle with the cps sensor for I think 3 days lol but I got it running in time and she pulls strong!!!!

Mods/Info

Bran new OEM 7MGTE head ported, valves, springs, cams, valve covers
Turbo XS RFL with horn
Metal head gasket
ARP Studs
Bran new OEM fuel intake manifold
Bran new OEM turbo manifold
Rebuilt CT26
3.90 final drive
EBay turbo inlet filter

Idk how much you paid for the car, but sounds like you got a pretty good deal! Congrats on the good find and welcome (again I guess haha) to Supramania!

Thanks guys I really appreciate it.

I got a steal, but like every good deal it had its snags......Luckily I knew supras well he had never seen one prior to owning it. The CPS sensor was never set correctly. So I completely reset the timing and the cps sensor was a bitch but after awhile I got it on time and running good.

I was lied to by the old owner and find out he never had it titled in his name, so I had to pay $300 in legal fees to have the court release a title to me. So I have not been able to drive it but up and down the street!! It sucks but my title is in the mail so any day now I will he driving it!

I'm jelly. I want a hardtop :( my last one was stolen. I just picked up a 89 targa though w/ a fresh engine w/ specs almost identical to yours... runs like a stabbed rat

got mine in Jan. I drive it around w/ no tags since I can't get it inspected w/ out an exhaust on it. some asshole on here sold an exhaust I had lined up to buy out from under me, and I've been trying to have one fabbed up since then... any day now...

It's titled and insured at least... so it wouldn't be impounded or anything :-/

Always nice so see a rather unmolested and clean Supra. And I like the engine work, very clean as well

When I was a kid the first time I got pulled over was for:
A) speeding
B) no license plates
C) no proof of registration
D) no proof of insurance
E) no seatbelt
But I just had to drive my RX7 to school that day lol

I agree it was very nice seeing a fairly stock supra, besides basic bolt on's I won't do much to it, I want to keep as close to original as I can.

Because of everything I want to do, drag race a few times in the summer, and hit mid Ohio for track day, ideally I want to be around 500rwhp. I might have to either sell this supra after this summer or buy another one because, its to clean for an 87 to beat on like that but until then, I'm just focused on making sure I have a reliable weekend car.
