Nothing wrong with that... how long did it take you to get that going?

I did the swap over the winter- The biggest hang-up was the driveshaft - mating the r154 to the conquest pinion- Went with a Supra shaft(aluminum from Shaftmasters) and redrilled the stock pinion - zero vibration....smooth all the way up to 6500k. The car moves out pretty good.

I've had a targa for a few years now... aside from the roof occasionally peeing on me when it rains, the handful of times a year that I drive topless are totally worth it. :)

So what sort of rear end is in that thing? I don't know much about Mitsu's, as far as technical details, but I know RWD wasn't really their specialty...

3.54:1 posi
The rear is actually pretty tough and will hold 600+ HP. The problem occures in the half shafts when you get wheel hop - they break at the spline. You can change out the gears from the front axle of a raider to get the rear to 4.62:1 ratio. The later quest came with 6 bolt half shafts so they are strong and will take a fair amount of abuse.

Yea- I have heard that the targa has a tendency to develope a leak but I still love the look.

Good Lord man, 4.62:1? Are you trying to crawl your car?

Seriously though, 3.54 would make a nice rear gear for a Supra... at least for big power cars, and cruising. 4.62 would make a nice drift setup though, or road race. You'd never see more than 130mph though...
