This all started out about 3 months ago being tired of how laggy my GT72 was on my 1JZ, i was hitting boost around 4800-5000, and wasnt liking it too much. So i sourced out a 2J bottom end locally, tore it down, had it decked and honed and also sourced out a set of 10k mile TT rods and pistons (block is GE).

2JZ-GE block courtesy of Snap Performance.
GTE rods, pistons, new rings and bearings courtesy of Dynosaur performance.
Water neck pipe from Zoonwen.
OEM 2J Headgasket

Also was tired of the harness/ecu problems i was having with the 1J equipment. So thanks to my brother who is located in Yokosuka, Japan i was able to get an Aristo Harness and Blitz Access Ecu. I have yet to run a stock ecu in my car :icon_bigg.

1JZ before going away, just had gotten everything powercoated by RBCoating

p1312190_4.jpg

p1312190_5.jpg

then i got some really bad new on the build, my turbo was shot, horrible lateral shaft play, i loved that turbo, had a good amount of money into it between powercoating, ceramic coating, and the anti-surge.
p1312190_6.jpg

so that really put a hamper on the car, also kept it from making it to 2K9, couldnt source out a turbo that would match up within the week that we had to finish and go to 2K9 in.

So i decided to go a lil bigger after 2K9 ended, also decided to take my time after seeing 3 friends blow their motors at 2K9.

Got a T88-34D with hardly any use on it from a Local guy. He made 902whp on it and trapped 10.001 @ 147mph, then took it off and went bigger.

Had a few problems with it tho

1. oil lines didnt fit
2. DP had wrong flange and wasnt long enough.

friends spare oil drain fit it though, and dynosaur performance had the right oil line in stock for me.

Also ran across a deal from Ken that i couldnt pass up on an OS Giken Triple Plate clutch, so i pulled off my OSG super single and put on the triple plate.

fast forward about a week. most of the motor is assembled with the old i/c piping setup

p1312196_6.jpg

heres with the changed/new i/c piping routing.
p1312196_7.jpg

time for exhaust/dp. decided if im gonna make my own exhaust and dp again, might as well go big, 4" all the way.
p1312196_8.jpg

p1312196_9.jpg

exhaust not finished in the pic, has a 2nd v-band downstream and flex pipe.

also got the harness adapted for the car, was able to get rid of a shit ton of wiring and connectors in the process

and she cranked right up (well almost right up)

Fast forward to today, talked with OS Giken about the issues im having with the clutch, and it turns out i have the wrong sized release sleeve bearing. I have the single/twin plate one. and it does not work on the triple, as ive found out. cant get the bastard into gear. so i started to take the motor down to pull it to fix it this coming weekend.

and heres the interior re-assembled

Looks great Ben! Cant wait to come back home and see this setup in person.

That 72 pulled really strongly so I can't imagine what this will do with supporting fuel...

Looking good ben. One question though. Why do you always pull the motor to take the trans out. Why not do it with in the car. Just asking in case you know somthing i dont.

with the design of the triple, and clearance issues on the trans, its easier to just pull the motor and work on it

clutch works beautifully now, fricking grabs like crazy, stalled it out a few times now

if i do 450whp ill be happy

if i break 500+ on pump ill be ecstatic

That should not be a problem at all, on my T67 untuned at 1bar I was at 460whp 2jz but should not make much difference.

Car looks great, very similar to mine.
