I have a 1987 Turbo Targa and I am looking at buying some cheap monroe's to fill the gap between my busted TEMS system and when I can afford some Illumina II's comfortably in the future. What I don't understand is how you implement this into the McPherson assembly. The part numbers for this strut are 71214 Front and 71215 Rear. Looking them up on the Monroe site they just look like shocks that would dampen the leaf springs on my wrangler, I don't understand how this attaches to the coil spring or spring base. Or am I missing something? If anyone could offer some insight as to this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

if your TEMS is not working but the shocks have not failed then I would not replace them with Monroes. However if your shocks are leaking then by all means replace them to save your tires.

The shocks have definitely failed. I get huge rebound and oversteer on corners, bumps, especially when the level of the freeway rises sharply I lose alot of control of the front tires on the rebound. My TEMS seems to be functioning fine as far as changing modes.

KYB's are $10 more a piece. Trust me, monroes are garbage...

X2. Go KYB and don't look back if you're going for a stock replacement. Or Tokico. :)

Ya i did do it for a friend and he ended up paying 60 for all 4. But the kyb's would be a much better choice.

The reason for that is because the sensa trac setup is meant to work in a specific compression range, since you're changing it with the lowering springs naturally they are even shittier than usual.

If you get the kyb's through napa they come with lifetime warranties. I doubt ebay will be the same, also 120 with free shipping is oddly cheap.
