Anyone know of a good place to get a ballscrew cheap for a CNC setup? My Y-axis is getting really sloppy.

Thanks.

each mfg has their own screw generally....either youll need to source a company that makes replacement parts for machines that are no longer made or youll have to go directly to the company that made your mill/lathe....it wont be cheap or fun to fix!

slop in the system can also be by many other things....the balls the run on the screw are held in place by a brass type sleeve that gets worn out and lets the balls move....generally this is the problem as the screw its self is usually made of tool steel of the sorts which is very hard!

you may also need your ways re ground and new brass wedges installed to tighten up the beds...

the screw itself should be fine.

My machine is self designed and made so pretty much anything I can get my hands on can be made to function for my purposes. I still have a functional manual mill and lathe here to create whatever I need. I simply need a good source for new or used ballscrews.
