Corvette (6.0 built by CRD) made 491 hp / 472 tq

Brian (6765, 264s, AEM v1, E85) made 691 hp / 629 tq

That's all the hp that corvette made? was it intentional to aim for that amount only for circuit purposes?

It's a race car, they put restrictors on them to keep the cars in each class equal. Keeps the bigger motor cars (Corvettes, Vipers) from running away from the smaller motor cars (Porsche, BMW).

I'll bet the powerband on that vette was nearly flat from 2,000 RPM to 7,000 RPM.
