So I got a transmisson out of an '01 lexus is300 because it was only $100 at a local shop. I'm cool with the shop owner so i been getting good deals on used parts :naughty: So anyway the tranny bols up fine to the block of course because the is300 has a 2j i did a little research and found that it was a w58 transmission other than mounting what other issues am i going to run into and or would i be able to use the bell housing on maybe an r154? which would be better if possible? i have an aristo that i decided i was going to go with a holset hx35 single turbo. Lemme know what you all think any advise/suggestions greatly appreciated :icon_bigg

The w58 will work good for stock turbo power, anything more than that and you're gambling.
To mate an r154 to the 2j you'd have to get a bellhousing, the stock one wont work and the w58 bellhousing won't fit on the r154.

just to be sure i'm understanding corructly the bell housing from the is w58 would NOT fit an r154
ahh man that kinda bites haha for sure i thought the is tranny would work ok ok... lol oh well back to the drawing board thank man!
