Because it's as badass as the current GT Mustang...

Could say the same for the mustang, why do they make it that badass looking when it's not?

Maybe they just want to show that you do not have to buy the more expensive and less fuel efficient v8 in order to have a great looking camaro. I thought it looked great.

No doubt it looks great...just would want some sort of LSx under the hood.
