I have just got hold of a HKS VPC to install in my 90 Turbo, the chip it came with is VK001B not the normal SUP011N, after searching the net it would appear that the VK001B is some sort of JDM chip for the 7Mgte with 440’s, I could not find any other information about it. Does anyone have any information on this chip before I go ahead and install it, just playing safe.

Thanks to those that looked at this thread...

All sorted now and up and running, turns out the chips are the same.

I bought a VPC from Japan for a 7MGTE with 440's. I compared the data on that chip vs a USDM 440 chip a friend had and they did not match at all.

I was told the only difference was that the VK001B was burnt in Japan and the SUP011N was burnt in the US. Car seems to run fine, would be interested in what differences there are if any.

Well right off the bat JDM cars do not have EGR and pump gas octane is different. Though with what we're learning with the TCCS disassembly EGR shouldn't make any difference. Octane really shouldn't either but HKS may have put some extra headroom in the AFR just in case.

Do you have access to an EPROM reader that you could download the data with?

Am not sure what effort I'd put in to this since my V(ariable)P(erformance)C(computer) is long gone. I think I still have the JDM 440, USDM 440, and USDM 550 bin files somewhere.
