Sorry that posted twice. It would be awesome if you could just look in the manual and see what all they did to the car, but nobody builds a car for somebody else to figure out :/

I would agree with this, should probably just leave things be until you start learning a bit more about what they do. Would be unfortunate to brick your car over something simple, especially since it is modified in a unique way, might not be so easy for us to trouble shoot it online. Devin, how do you explain stereo amps then? Every one I've seen is hooked directly to the battery. They are wired to something in the ignition IIRC, that shuts them off when the car is off though. My point being, just because something is hooked directly to the battery shouldn't cause it to drain, unless of course it is an "always on" type of setup, in which case you're 100% correct.Devin Hutchison;1878639 said:Don't move anything. Just leave it. The reason your battery is draining is because everything is hooked up directly to the battery rather than running through the alternator.

Read the JZ section stickied threads, to get an idea of what all is involved here. LOT of good info in there. As was suggested, try and get someone to give you a ride in their car, see if you like it. Hell, if it weren't for my buddy Andrew taking me for a ride in his car, I would possibly be a much wealthier man these days, and my post count would NOT be where it is today.yhatzee89;1879155 said:Any advice for the swap? Anybody?
Plenty of cars came with a 1j and an auto though, same with the 2j, so you certainly have options. Like I suggested, read through the JZ section's stickied threads, once you have gone through that, you should be able to form your own decision on where to go.yhatzee89;1879195 said:Lol not many people swap a 1JZ into an automatic (I only have one leg, can't drive stick anymore) and I haven't met any 1jz owners here in MD. But I'm 99% sure I'm just gonna swap over, the only thing that worries me is the electrical, do I go stand alone? Or stick with stock ECU? Do I buy a ready made harness? Or try to splice my own? These are the things I'm worried about right now... :/
