Long as it's the same type (heated vs not) and has the same number of pins you're good. I'm using a screw-in sensor from an '89 Mustang GT on my car, just had to splice the plugs in...

Ive been reading about this, and im not to sure about it... i understand that the type of sensor that the 1j uses is a titania type sensor, no the normal zarconia type like most cars... I was actually wondering how many people have used the fox body o2 on a 1j and had good experiences, i suppose this post will tell me!

OK I spliced the new mustang sensor in today, just one quick question. The mustang sensor has the 1 white wire and 2 black, so I spliced the 2 signal wires together (blue on stock and white on new), but wasn't sure which black wire went to witch. In the linked post a couple up it says it doesn't matter. Can someone confirm this?
thanks,
