ive read a bit on the filters in this area, the sticky and a couple other sites. but didnt see anything on the construction of different filters and to compatability of a filter made for 1 car, and a filter made for another.

the only things that i know would be different would be the thread size and pitch, and the size of the rubber ring that seals it.

the only other factors that would limit what you can use is if there was a very small space in which to fit the filter.

so what is the determining factor when getting a filter that is larger than your normal one.... if it screws on ok, seals ok, and fits in there...... is there anything thats gonna cause a problem?
