CD Player ejects CD's

I have a JVC(kw-xc550) CD/Cassette player in my car and for some reason when I put a cd in it automatically ejects it out. I've tried multiple cd's so I know it cant be a scratched up cd causing this.

Any ideas?

does it eject it immediately? or does it try to read then eject it?

i couldnt tell you how many jvc's ive fixed w/ that problem.

if it ejects immediatly its most like a mode switch in the cd mech. cheap and easy.

if it tries to play, but just ejects it, mostly likely the pick-up or sometimes the spindle motor.
