Boost controller popping sound

Hi guys I installed a forge ball and spring boost controller and i hear a popping sound coming out of the exhaust even at base boost of the wastegate 8 psi on a sp61gt. This popping sound wasn't there right before install any thoughts?

So if you remove the boost controller the sound goes away?

A bunch of pops almost like a 2 step and it's a 3 inch def con downpipe

Just got a chance to re-gap my plugs and popping went away pulls strong now
