Bad Gasoline Fume (i think..) when driving .. :(

Hey guys,

So I've had my 86.5 7mge Sup for many months now and I have always smelled this strong-ish vapor while driving. Windows open or closed, i still am able to notice the fumes. It smells like a mix of gas and sharpie marker. I dont really know what it might be, my car runs fine, engine was rebuilt less than 2 thousand miles ago.

Any suggestions on what it might be? how to fix?

If it helps, I noticed that the previous owner put silicone over the lower part of the egr valve thing that connects to the upper part which is attached to the TB. Therefore, the TB part of the valve or vacuum hose thing is not connected to anything.

I looked at the egr and everything seems to be connected properly except for the little rubber valve that is coming from the throttle body..I have no clue where that goes. and yea, I can hear that I have an exhaust leak right by the cat somewhere..that could come through the shifter assembly?
