I have a 91 supra turbo with stock hd unit with cd player and factory amp located under passenger seat.
I want to put in an aftermarket amp to power my new speakers, but I don't want to cut the wires from the stereo unit to the amp. I can't find an accurate diagram of my amp connectors. I have a wiring diagram out of a service manual but that is not helping me to much. Does anyone know where I can get a wiring harness to plug into my existing wire hookups that are under the seat? and does anyone have a diagram or know what wires go to what? Thanks for any help. I would greatly appreciate it!!:icon_bigg

I can probably help. There are a couple of different amp to head connectors. Yours I am guessing is probably the 14 pin version.

Looking at the head unit (male) connector

7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14
1 2 3 - - 4 5 6

Pin Func Color
==================
P1 XAmpB+ O
P2 ILL+ G
P3 B+ R
P4 Mute Y
P5 FL W
P6 FR B
P7 ANT B+
P8 ILL- W-G
P9 ACC GR
P10 Gnd BR
P11 SGnd BR
P12 Beep L
P13 RL G
P14 RR R

XampB+ is external amp power
ILL is the illumination power (don't connect ILL- to ground!!)
Mute and Beep are unknown functions

ALso, to make a harness you will need to go on Ebay and buy some junk radios/amps of this vintage to cannibalize. You can usually get a non-working radio or amp for under $20 with good connectors.

Why don't you save yourself the time and trouble and go to the nearest Best Buy or a Car Audio Specialist shop and they have the connectors there for it. I had it done to mine in like 20 minutes. I still have my stock amp and wires all there. Mind you this weekend they will all be torn out since I won't be needing that tiny little amp.

I am in the exact same situation, I want to replace my factory power amp and run some components in the doors, but I am going for a stock look with the scion t1808 head unit. Thanks for the pin out!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Scion unit internally amped? I know with my Camry I had, the internally amped units had different plugs than the externally amped units. With the externally amped units, the amp harness fits between the deck and the standard plugs. So the Scion head, if internally amped, won't work with the external amp.
