Hi,

I was wondering of anyone has done valve seals on the subject engine, when it is in the engine compartment? If yes, which valve keeper removal tool and seal remover tools were used?

I used a compression gauge adapter with a regulator to pressurize the cylinder to keep the valve in and then used this Snap-On tool to remove the spring the last time I did it:

If you have that and a set of valve stem seal pliers, it makes the job pretty quick and easy.

Additional key points:
Work on one cylinder at a time
Have the cylinder you're working on at TDC
Have a small magnet to grab the keepers with, it helps a lot!
Use heavy wheel bearing grease on the inside of the keepers to 'glue' them to the valve stem during re-installation.
Tap each valve stem with a brass drift to ensure proper keeper seating.

Probably "good enough" if you're going to only do this once or twice.
