Hi, I am a newby to this site and have been working on my project for almost a year now. I thought I would share some info about my project with others. I have always had a soft spot for 300ZX's and have rebuilt a couple of 1UZ's over the years so I decided to do an engine swap and fit a 1UZFE into Z32 300ZX.
While the conversion is complete you never really stop tweaking I guess do you.
Engine:- Toyota 1UZFE, The Engine has been freshened up with a minor rebuild, hone, rings, bearings, valve job, minor porting work, heavy valve springs, 4 into 1 extractors, wolf V500 ECU and larger injectors.
Trany:- The conversion uses the standard 1UZFE auto transmission, an A341E which I have built a micro controlled tipronic transmission controller. At the moment I use buttons but will soon have paddles on my column to shift the transmission. Oh, it also shifts as an auto too, using tramsmiison speed to shift up and down.
Cooling:- A std 300ZX TT aluminium 3 core radiator plus remote engine oil cooler
Tailshaft:- 300ZX TT shaft with toyota donut fitted to the front
Aircon:- Standard 1UZFE compressor plumbed into the standard 300ZX system
Power Steering:- Standard 1UZFE pump plumbed into the standard 300ZX system
The car runs and drives well and is ready to go onto the dyno for a final tune.
I will post some pictures at some time in the future for those who are interested.:icon_bigg

Interesting swap. I like it. Any reason you didn't use an A340E with its shorter 1st gear? The 341 is 2.5:1, or something real close to that if you didn't know.

Hi Nick, I just used the transmission that was attached to my engine, being an A341. I didn't know that the A340 had different gear ratios. My task at hand now is to clean up the engine bay. A little chrome and colours might help. I've built a new plenum which I'm hoping will allow the engine to breath a little better so with some luck I'll put that on shortly. I'm still refining the software in the transmission controller so that in auto mode it shifts nice and sporty. Tiptronics works fine. I might take up the option of an A340 at a later date
