Hi guys.

I have a 1jz frontcut waiting, I want to make a 1.5jz. Is it possible to use the 1jz pistons in the 2jzge block, and would that be a good solution to lower compression? What about the 2jzge con-rod, are they any good?

Reason that I ask, is that its very hard to find a 2jzgte from a supra here.

For the best result, you should use the 2JZGE short block from a 92-94 Lexus Sc300...95 & up have weaker VVti Rods. Buy a set of JZA80 TT Pistons and your set from there. The sc300 92-94 Non-VVti come with the same bottom half as the twin turbo Supra (2JZGTE) minus the pistons. Get yourself a 1JZGTE head from a Toyota Cresta E-JZX81 or a Chaser E-JZX90 they tend to flow better than the other 1Js, do that my friend and you're in business. You be able to get atleast 450-520 on stck internals, grant it you go with a single set up. Better with a T70 or 62-1 or larrge turbo with alteast 650 injectors and a good Standalone AEM, Altech etc. That will be a beautiful project when its done..trust me mine is.

People need to stop putting false information up. You can use 1jz pistons on a non vvti 2jzge block. It will bolt right on. I know this because that's exactly what I use on my 1.5jz with 2jzgte OEM head gasket. It works perfectly.

Doing this makes it a 2jzgte block without oil squirters as the 1jzgte and 2jzgte have the same pistons
