1985 MR2 Project

Hey guys, I thought i'd take the time and make a little thread about my "OHTER" car lol. It's a 1985 toyota mr2 i bought from the original owner with a blown motor for 300$. The plan was to rebuild the engine and daily it but plans changed and now its got a turbo kit,set of coilovers and more to come lol

and heres how it sits now waiting for bodywork/paint and some new wheels

I had some bad luck a few weeks ago when i hit a large chunk of ice, it rolled under the car and wedged it self against my turbo manifold and cracked it but things happen, luckly i have a better quality replacement that is AC friendly i just have to find time rework my down pipe and charge pipes

yes and no. not till later years. i think 88 was the first year of the sc, but im not 100% sure. all i know is the 85 never had the option of power steering.

My car wasn't a factory SC car if it was i would have just swapped a bigger supercharger on it and called it a day lol but Bio is right you couldn't get a SC till 88 and non of the mk1 mr2's came with PS but you really don 't need it, My 100lb girlfriend can drive the car with little effort if that says anything lol

I'm trying to decided when i repaint the car if i should keep the 85 factory Blue/Black paint scheme, what do you guys thnk if i don't i'm looking at doing a entire color change to either toyota voodoo blue or a dark grey metallic color

id paint it all the same color, looks better imo. and the voodoo blue does look good, so it gets my vote

Not a fan of thet voodoo blue, reminds me too much of Ford blue (which I HATE). I LOVE the STI blue though http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&q=STI blue&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&biw=1659&bih=844 Factory color looks more like teal than blue as well...

Also, badass little car man. When I saw in the list you put miata wheels on it I was worried they where the ugly NA miata wheels :rofl:

lol nope not rockin the NA daisys on my car, but these are off a NA miata they came of the 1997 STO model and are made by Enkei (only made 1500 thats why most people havn't seen them)
