Try his email: advancedracetechnology@yahoo.com; if you don't get a response I'll text him. He's usually just really busy, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want the business.
He tuned my DM AEMv2 and sorted some "issues" that basemap that's included has (quite a few).
yep, correct.
They are the same and always have been. Stance took the HSD product line changed the name and started marketing it here in the U.S.
I had a pretty in depth argument with a guy about this once and I started citing all my resources, and the guy flipped out. He of course had a...
the only coilovers under $1500 that you should consider are: BC Racing BR (excellent valving, dyno matched dampers, go decently low in the rear unlike most, available custom build/valving options), Stance (about the same as BC in every aspect including drop despite being a totally different...
they are made from forged aluminum, so at the time they were made they were pretty awesome. that Toyota pricing should have been lowered significantly as time went on but whatever lol
some folks have retrofitted replacement joints to the stock arms; I think there are a few threads on it actually.
a stock 2J should be pulling around -19 to -24 or so in/HG at idle unless you have cams or a leak. I pull -15 now on my 1J, but that's after installing 272s.
what's said above is true to some level and great rule of thumb, but from experience not degreeing cams means a lot less than you may think.
for instance, with the GSC and BC cams we installed on various customer 1J/2J cars (when I was still working in FL) we didn't notice any real change using...
two different types of whitelines, and I should have clarified.
the adjustable whiteline packages come with a stiffer front bar than Tanabe, with Tanabe coming with the stiffer rear bar (even when the whitelines are maxed out). this makes the car prone to more oversteer as said above, but since...
The Tanabe bars are lighter than stock and are stiffer than ST and Whiteline. What's there to not like? haha
I have them, and they are pretty amazing aside from the lame rubber bushings that they come with. Replace those with poly and you're good to go.
yeah, I've run the Action 6-puck for about 7 years now.. it's always been great for what I need.
it's been okay on the new 520whp single setup so far as well
It's funny you mention EMS install/tune because while Derrick is a great mechanic, his passion and area where he excels most is in just that, tuning.
He makes a living essentially fixing bad tunes from two notable shops in Tampa (one known for Zs and the other known more for Supras), and he...
Derrick @ Advanced Race Technology in Sarasota is the best JZ mechanic, let alone mechanic in general that I've ever met. The Tampa guys PALE in comparison to what he has been doing, especially as of late. He does not advertise at all, mostly because he's always really busy, but it's an option...
I wouldn't even do the S362FMW on the 2J (unless you want the extra response), I'd do the S366 with a FMW wheel upgrade (S366R) which is still pretty damn responsive and leaves room to grow.
I have the S360 on my 1J and it made 500whp @ 20psi on 93
