Did you take it for a road test lately? Mine got down to 1000 rpm after a 5 mile road trip. Sometimes after that when I started it it would be at 1300. Seems to stay at 1000 now after setting the timing again. It was off a few degrees.

Well I hope you find out whats wrong. I just rebuilt my 89 7MGTE and once I started it (yesterday), it runs at about 2000 to 2500 RPMs and unpluging the afm drops it to about 1200. Code 51 set on mine. I'm sure u know the Turbo ISCV has a check value in it that the N/A's don't have. I haven't...

Well HAD the same problem with my 89 W58 with 302,000 miles on it. It was in the tranny. Most likely bearings. Had already replaced the clutch and all. Didn't fix the problem. Replaced the tranny with a used one and all that high pitch sound went away! The sound was much less in fifth gear. Real...

Just picked up an 89T Supra with two melted pistons also (4&5). Looks like the block will need boring but usable. The head was cracked. Take to your machine shop. They can clean and do all the checks for you.
